We didn't stumble into this space — we came out of it. TR Network Consulting ran as a managed service provider, serving small businesses across the region. We know the tools, the contracts, the threat landscape, and the work it takes to keep a business's IT running safely.
And we know the conversation that happened too often. A 4-person law firm or a 6-person dental office would reach out for help. We'd scope the work, put together an honest proposal, and they'd thank us and walk away. Not because they didn't need help — but because $1,500 to $2,000 a month simply didn't fit a business their size. That's a reasonable decision. We understood it every time.
What we couldn't shake was what came next. Those same businesses went back to running without multi-factor authentication. Sharing passwords over text. Storing client files in personal Dropbox accounts. Not because they were careless — because nobody had ever explained the risk in plain terms, at a price they could act on. The MSP model couldn't reach them. So their data stayed exposed.
